According to Workforce magazine, workplace telemedicine is a slowly growing trend, but one that is gaining increasing attention. The magazine recently highlighted companies offering employees access to telemedicine as part of health insurance coverage to minimize use of emergency room visits.
The HR Director of office furniture dealer Goodmans Interior Structures was interviewed about offering telemedicine services, provided by MeMD, to employees. The company has about 150 employees in Arizona and New Mexico. Employees can either use a kiosk at the workplace, or a computer with a webcam from home or another location to connect with MeMD’s physicians.
